There Ain't No Rest For the Wicked

Sagging, tired eyes
What is this thing you speak of?
"Sleep" is what it's called?
I've lost count of how many days it has been since I've slept well. Going to bed at 6:30 am isn't cutting it. For some reason I keep tossing and turning.
Luckily enough, I've been able to keep myself busy.
So far I've nearly completed my Fallout 3 Laser Rifle prop for my Halloween costume. The rest of my outfit is ready to go. Same with Van's.
The other night I worked the midnight release for Fallout New Vegas. What a wonderful time!
Of course I left the store with my collector's edition copy, I haven't had a chance to play it though.
After leaving the midnight release a little later than 1 am, I drove a friend of mine home, then picked up my other friend, Jason, and we drove to Philly.
In the pouring rain.
At 2 am.
Several Full Throttles, a NOS, a Rockstar and a Venom later....
We got to my parents' house at 6 am, just as Dad was leaving for work.
Almost immediately we went to sleep, just to wake up in 4 hours then drive an hour into Center City.
There we waited at the Rock School of Dance to audition to work at DISNEY WORLD!
This was very exciting.
I figured, though, that we would just do some minor acting auditions and get an interview. I was sorely mistaken.
And sore in general.
Turns out we had to dance for approximately 3 hours. Almost non-stop. After being so exhausted (and sick from drinking all those poisons on an empty stomach that morning...), dancing was the LAST thing I needed to do. I was certain that I was going to faint.
The auditions were out at 5 pm. I felt confident and sweaty and ready to collapse.
With eyes drooping and heads nodding, we finally made our way home, ate dinner, then watched the extremely disappointing Scream Awards.
At 8 o'clock this morning, we woke up and made our way back to New York. Traffic was awful, due to ungodly amounts of construction.
I dropped Jason off at his house, then went to Planet New York and added on to my tattoo.
Now, I'm home, sitting on the couch, typing this with my eyes closed, ready to fall asleep. Maybe I'll make cookies for Van tonight, since I just got some chocolate chip cookie dough from Mom.
Or maybe I'll just lay on the floor until someone scoops me up with a giant spatula...

Just Your Typical Thundercats Ho

Today I had planned on writing a blog about how every woman has "Jaguar mode". No, this has nothing to do with "cougars" or anything of the sort. Jaguar mode is when a woman gets so incredibly irrate that when she yells or screams she no longer sounds like a human being, but like a wildcat singing a thrashmetal song. This tends to be a very rare experience and only happens when a women is as angry as she can possibly be.

To better describe this, I had clips from two movies in mind, but I couldn't find the second one that I needed. First bit from was Forgetting Sarah Marshall. There is a scene about two-thirds of the way though the movie where Rachel encounters her ex-boy friend and more or less flips shit on him. I found that clip and will post it below.
The second bit was from Knocked Up. In that scene, the character Allison screams mercilessly at a rather confused Seth Rogen in a gynecology office. Unfortunately I could not find the clip from that.
But, those were my two best examples of women going into jaguar mode.
It really is a terrifying experience.

Here is the clip from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It is relatively short, but the part that I speak of is only within the last 10 seconds or so, and she only does it for about 3 seconds, as jaguar mode rarely lasts longer than that.

Well, I suppose after all of that I did make the post I had originally planned on. So now you may carry on with your lives.
Good day.
Oh, and if you are curious as to what sound I am refering to, is would be this, which is technically a bobcat:

Harpo Productions

Due to someone missreading something I had written on facebook ("I am currently making fudge and listening to opera"), I came to wondering"If Oprah Winfrey recorded an album and was giving a record deal, how many people would buy it?"
The breakdown of buyers would have quite an interesting breakdown, imaginably.

I believe it would consist mainly of stay-at-home moms and 4-chan-ers.
But the 4 chan-ers would probably just download it anyway.

Please think about this for a few.
Grazi.

At the age of six I wanted to be a cook. At seven I wanted to be Napoleon. And my ambition has been growing steadily ever since.

-Salvador Dali

2 weeks from Friday I will be out of here. How exciting is this? VERY! I cannot wait. I've been living in a dorm room for far too long.

Yesterday my roommate and I discovered that you can change your language on Facebook to "Pirate". Its pretty funny, really, but gets kinds of hard to read and understand after a while. Requires a bit too much thinking for just looking on Facebook.

Salvador Dali's birthday is this Monday.

RANT
WHY IS ROBERT PATTINSON PLAYING DALI IN AN UPCOMING MOVIE?! This... is painful. It truly is. The guy that plays a dead wizard and a shitty vampire is casted to play one of the greatest artists of all time? Salvador deserves much better than this.

C is for...

like bamboo torture
chocolate chips under the nails
a sweet Vietnam

Every day I dread going to this class. Cookies. Cookies, cookies, cookies. Cookies.
Cookies.
I can not deal with them anymore. I am halfway through the block being over, which is a good thing, but never the less.
I cannot believe that I am spending all of this time and money to not get any better at baking...cookies.
Honestly, I like the ones I make at home better. I feel like I am learning absolutely nothing. It seems to be a waste of time. And I definitely almost dropped a knife through my leg yesterday. Somehow it flipped over and landed handle-down. Then I almost stabbed a guy that went running by me without warning. Bad call.
Perhaps the next class with be better.
My goal is to go to the store and get gum paste and practice more so I can get better at making flowers and things so I will do better if I get my extern. Hopefully that will all work out.
But enough about school. That subject grows wearisome after a while.

If I were a superhero, I would be Fever Cat.

"Who is Fever Cat?" You ask?
Fever Cat is the ultimate superhero!
Kind of.
Not really.
Here is a picture.
Oh the awesome that she is. Pouncing unsuccessfully from treebrance to treebranch, infecting small children with strep throat and the flu, drinking ungodly amounts of orange juice, just to throw it up on your favorite shoes in a few hours. My mom says that Stan Lee might buy it. Ill have to pitch it to him.

I am currently listening to the Misfits yet again. I have a playlist of songs that Im working on learning how to play on guitar, Saturday Night was one of them. I learned it though and now play it acoustic sometimes. Someday I might actually work up the guts to sing in front of people. That is highly, highly unlikely. I believe I will have to be mildly inebriated to do that.
Someday.

I really feel like Im just writing the same things over and over again on here. I really with I could think of something better to write about. I need to go back and reread the things that I used to write about so I can get a better feel of what is more interesting, because honestly, no one wants to hear about what I'm doing with my life or how my day went. I have a feeling people would rather read about zombie attacks or mall goths. I don't know when the next post about reality TV shows will be, considering I don't own a television that plays TV shows. it only plays video games and movies. But really, it just seems to be collecting dust, because I rarely use it. I really don't like televisions, they rot the mind. Though it would be nice to be more informed. Apparently there was a salmonella outbreak in pistachios. I wish I had known this before I ate them. So, if there are no posts for a while....

blame the pistachios.

Until then!

I Do Not Exist!

Lucky for me I haven't lost my tarot reading ability! I still remember all of the cards and their meanings. I did four or so reading last night and it really was a reliefe how easily everything came. Some people I can throw down thier cards and read em like a book, for others, its not that easy. But yesterday it was generally very good.
I hung out with Hilda, Jackie, Jay, and Vlad and we read cards and danced and talked and it was great. Then Van came over and Hilda, Jackie, Jay and Vlad went to a party.
Hilda teaches me spanish sometimes! its really fun, I hope to learn more. She will teach me spanish, I will teacher her tarot. She has very strong energies.

I had my practical yesterday. I got on A on the written and an A on the baking part. I made a spongecake and remember to put the oil and vanilla in it this time (forgot the day before!) got an 8/8 on it and my chef said "wow, this is perfect. I couldn't make one better" then I got a 7.5/8 on my pastry cream, and then 6.5/8 on my pate a choux. So I got an A. I took my spongecakes and just made a 4 layer cake with the pastry cream and Van is going to bring chocolate icing so I can frost it and make a 4 layer boston cream cake. Haha. Yay cake!

I was just thinking about live TV. What happens if someone on live tv does something that needs to be censored? How do they do that?

And I just discovered perhaps the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my entire life. http://www.faeriecon.com/
Its in philadelphia. Or, philadelphia has one. The photographs are amazing.
I think I shall go sometime, only if Michelle will go with me!!!

We Only Come Out At Night

If you haven't noticed yet, I have a slight problem with the media and the way it portrays things. The media has a habit of either warping things to seem really bad, or making really bad things seem like they're okay. Either that or they publicize something to the point of where it is dangerous. [See "Wasn't That A Stardust Fantasy", "Teen Commits Suicide Live On Webcam" or "Though I Did Love Who Wants To Be A Superhero" ]
More and more recently the media has been publicizing certain kinds of people that have been glamorized into being seen as "cool". My first example is pirates.

Since Disney's Pirates Of The Caribbean, pirates have been views as cool, funny and even sexy. People want to be pirates, people want to dress like pirates, people think that pirates are these wonderful, glamorous things. In reality, pirates are just thieves, murderers, rapists and generally criminals. They were outlaws that killed people and stole their things, raped women, burned down buildings and many other acts of violence. If someone were doing that today, they would not be viewed as a hero, they would not be viewed as funny, and they would not be viewed as glamorous. Granted we really don't see people sailing around and acting like pirates anymore, but the fact that they are viewed as something cool is really just damaging.

The next, and probably more extreme example, is vampires.
Vampires, as according to myth, are the spirits of people that either: 1. Committed suicide; 2. Were murdered and want revenge. Granted that there are several other myths, I'm going to generally stick to the "evil spirits wanting revenge" one for now. There are so far no real "positive" reasons why vampires would exist. Aside from that, vampires are scary things. They're meant to be scary. They go and kill people, drain them of their life and energy, and are generally very dark. Vampires have been given the image of sexy and seductive, which is more or less true based on the 'forbidden' factor, also their hypnotism, but the fact that they are now seen as "good" things, is really a horrible misconception. Vampires are not teen heartthrobs, nor are they happy and friendly creatures that want to be "bffz" with everyone.
To make matters worse, we have vampire people coming out in the open. Not only are they coming out in the open, they're killing other people. The publicity of vampires and vampirism is making it seem like being a 'vampire' is cool. I'm not going to get into full detail about the subject, but the idea of it is frightening. People are coming out and acting like vampires, and killing other people.

I really must pin a lot of this on the media of today. Between the news and entertainment, we're fueling people's minds with violent ideas and letting them think its okay. So, if you just so happen to be reading this, I challenge you to go look at the news and find something positive that has happened recently. And I don't mean "Man Saves Dog With Broken Leg" or "Kid Sells 5000 Boxes Of Cookies". Just try it.

"Everbody just...pretened to be normal, okay? Like everything is normal here."

The suicidal gay uncle, the heroin addict grandfather, the over-achieving father, the mute son, the daughter that just wants to please, and the mother that tries to cope with it all.
These are all extremes, but really every family is like the main characters of Little Miss Sunshine.
I continue to think about this as I watch the movie. Every one's family is so crazy, but so normal at the same time. Every family has problems, every family has a slightly unhinged member, every family goes on some kind of whirlwind adventure at one pointt or another. Its really very interesting to think about it. Not every family has a gay suicidal uncle that is depressed yet scholarly, but they still have the family member that will desperately need some kind of help but is no longer trusted. Everyone may not directly have that mute son, but there is still the family member that wants nothing more than to get as far away from everyone as possible. Every family has someone that has an addiction, or a problem, but they still want the best for everyone else. But everyone does not have heroin addict grandpa. As I watch this movie, I think about how despite the dramatization, the Hoover family is just like every other family. Just as crazy, just as disheveled, just as problematic.
The only difference is that every family doesn't have a yellow Volkswagen bus.

Though I did love "Who Wants To Be A Superhero..."

The television these days is really going down hill. Last night it had me in tears.
Reality TV is by far one of the worst inventions of all time. Not only is it addictive, it is completely useless. See, at least there used to be some good reality TV, back in the day. We had Survivor, Big Brother, The Mole, things like that. Nowadays we have A Double Shot At Love (as if A Shot At Love 1&2 weren't bad enough) Charm School, From G's to Gents, and I don't even remember the one I saw yesterday. It was something horrible. This girl had the most atrocious black, blond and blue hair and she was making a fool of herself. It had something to do with singing. Now, on top of all of those, you have Celebreality. Rock of Love with Brett Michael's, Surreal World (Or is it Surreal Life?), Celebrity Fit Club, then the ever loved Let's Snoop in Celebrity's Houses So We Know That Their Lives Are Just as Fucked Up as Ours As We Invade Their Families Privacy And Watch Their Rather Staged Family Crisis. All While Being Envious of Their Large Sums Of Money. Such as Run's House and Hogan Knows Best. And I'm pretty sure that Salt n Peppa had something like that. But really all they're doing is taking D list celebrities and sticking them on suffering networks to try to make the ratings go up. Sounds like a great plan to me. The reason these shows are so horrible is because they're just desperate for desperate, scummy people. They can have a television show with Tila Tequila (whoever that is...) because someone like Bono is: 1. Worth too much; 2. Smarter than that; 3, Actually cared about.
Please, lets up Oprah on a celebrity dating show.
Talk Show Of Love with Oprah Winfrey!
FANTASTIC!

Then on top of that, you start with something like..oh... I don't know... America's Next Top Model. Good idea, yes? Then you have America's Next Top Model 1-35. How many Top Models do we need?
But wait! All of these Top Models need clothing to wear. So hurry! Make up a new show! This is when all of the producer scramble and come up with Project Runway. Brilliant.
Wait...it needs a host...hurry...who is desperate for drug money so they'll do anything now, even though no one cares about them anymore? Oh! How about a slightly-too-old underwear model? Fantastic!
Hold on! We need someone to do all their hair...lets get some no names to compete in Shear Genius, while all the frantic culinarians on Top Chef make food for their lunch break. It's okay, we only need one winner for that. The models will just throw-up the food anyway. And of course they all compete on the latest reality show about interior decorators. Ten points if anyone can name what it is! Because I sure as hell can't remember.
There is nothing to fear though, because if you're mean, loud, and obnoxious enough, MTV will contact you with a contract to find your true love on one of their many shows. As long as you're somewhat attractive or bisexual.
So, by the look of it, as long as you are:

Skinny
Mean
Loud
Bitchy
A back stabber
Hopeless
A chef
A designer
A model
An interior decorator
A hair stylist
Not straight
Black
White
Remotely attractive
Single
Kind of single
Almost single
Willing to pretend to be single
Cheating
On drugs
Fat
Or have appeared on American Idol at least twice;
You have a chance to be on reality TV!

Congratulations, you have succeeded in life.

"Antichrist Superstar" vs. "Queen Of The Internet"

"Just as the industrial goths followed NIN, the scene kids follow Jeffree Star,
who really is just a pink-powdered, ultra-femme, sparkles and frosting covered
version of Marilyn Manson."

A quote from my last post.

In this post we will observe the few similarities and vast differences between the two teen idols that both have been noted as "before their time".

Let us observe the physical.
*insert slide-show click here*

VS.

See what I mean when I say "pink-powdered, ultra-femme, sparkles and frosting covered version of Marylin Manson." ? The similarities between Mr. Manson and Mr(s?). Star are striking. Though, it seems as though Jeffree is simply a silicone-sealed generic Manson knock off.
Fascinating. I feel as though nothing more needs to be said about the physical appearance.

Let us observe the musical
*slide change*

Marilyn Manson

Manson is well know for his anti religious, anti society lyrics, attitude and behavior. Songs such as This Is The New Shit, Antichrist Superstar, Disposable Teens, Heart Shaped Glasses, and The Beautiful People have clearly communicated a dislike for the standstills in society and conformity.
Here is a sample of lyrics from Marilyn Manson's song Are You The Rabbit?:

So ask your self before you get in,
I know the insurance won't cover this.
Are you the rabbit or the headlight,
And is there room in your life
For one more breakdown?

You can't escape,
Can't escape
All your demons.
All you demons,
"Watch out, watch out, for your lovers."

This song is from Manson's latest album, which was release in 2007. It relates to strong human emotion, life situations, and relies on mental visualization. These common themes in Manson's songs are part of what has kept his music popular over the years.

Jeffree Star

With songs like Heart Surgery (Isn't That Bad...), Miss Boombox, Cupcakes Taste Like Violence, Plastic Surgery Slumber Party and We Want Cunts, Jeffree Star has made it clear that his focus will be on things such as glamor, "scene", trends, fashion, and elitism.

Here is a sample of lyrics from Jeffree Star's song Eyelash Curlers and Butcher Knives (What's The Difference:

Spit on the dance floor to know where you are
Slip to the beat drivin' in my pink car
Know you love
And I love that I'm Jeffree Star

Cameras are flashin',
everyone's askin' what I'm gonna do tonight..
Who I'm gonna do tonight..

We have our haircut, eyes shut we're already there
Don't know their names an I dont really care
Cuz I only suck dick and just to be fair,
You're not on the menu, you'll never compare

Songs such as this appeal to the newest trend wave of the 2000's. Glamore, sex, and vanity. This path has been taken by artists before, but never to such an embarrassing extent. Jeffree Star's music focuses entirely on trends and his attempt to be something new and 'scary' to the public.

Here are two photographs of each artist's live performances:

Let us observe the artistic
*slide change*

Marilyn Manson is not only known for his musical career, but also his artistic abilities. He has a vast gallery of watercolor paintings that he has done. His recent art show "The Golden Age Of Grotesque" sold over 30 pieces. Here are a few examples of his artwork.

Jeffree Star shows his artistic ability through fashion and makeup. He is a well known MAC makeup artist in California. He was discovered at nightclubs.

"Star was able to mollify his obsessive compulsive disorder with his mother's makeup and fineries and eventually this quiet desire for beauty got louder and louder; from this grew his unnatural and many say unholy desire to take over the underground. On weekends, Jeffree hit the Hollywood clubs, where he would dress in outlandish mini dresses and 9 inch high heels. This is where he met Celebrities that loved his makeup work and tapped his number into their cell phones. While other kids where studying and doing homework, Jeffree was in mansions and music videos, doing makeup and making tons of money.
Eventually, his club going discipline worked to his advantage; suddenly everyone knew his name. Everyone was everywhere, claustrophobic, smothering, and strangely and perpetually, comforting. Everyone wanted a picture taken with him and everyone wanted to know where he was going next. He now attends shows and kids maul him. He gives out more autographs than bands, and he spits more profound makeup advice than MAC or Revlon."

Example of his makeup work here.

and finally

Let us observe the intellect
*slide change*

Here we will observe the intellect of our two musical artists simply be the things that they say. I will show each of their quotes one after the other.

Marilyn Manson

“When you're taught to love everyone, to love your enemies, then what value does that place on love?”

Jeffree Star

"My life is just another reminder that I'm the reason
teenage girls shove their fingers down their throats and little boys question
their sexuality."

Marilyn Manson

“I never said to be like me, I say to be like you and make a
difference.”

Jeffree Star

"sorry if we can't all be unoriginal, but I have a
mold to break."

Marilyn Manson

“A lot of people don't want to make their own decisions. They're too scared.
It's much easier to be told what to do. Americans talk so much about being
individualistic, but they don't want you to be an individual because if you
think for yourself then you're not going to be a part of any trend that they
want you to be a part of. They don't want you to think for yourself. They tell
you they do so that you're happy and you're stupid and you're sheep. Anybody
intelligent enough to realize what America is, is not going to sit around and do
nothing about it. They're going to be the same way that I am. They're going to
be the same way our fans are. They're going to be pissed. These people are
artists. These people are musicians. They're taking it out and trying to express
it that way. The rest of the world, who are just willing to accept it, are gonna
be doing their everyday jobs, and they're going to be trapped in a rut, and
they're never gonna see it until the day they die, and they're gonna be
disappointed when they don't go to heaven anyway 'cause they were too stupid to
realize that it's not going to happen.”

Jeffree Star

"I'm everything we fear today among society."

Marilyn Manson

“I view my job as being someone who is supposed to piss people off.
I don't want to be just one-of-the-guys. I don't want to be just a smiling face you see on television presenting some vapid kind of easily-digestible
garbage."

Jeffree Star

"I’m a billboard, advertising your aging confidence,
self-destruction and sagging self-esteem."

Marilyn Manson

“The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to
accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they're supposed to like, what they're supposed to buy, and what they're supposed to laugh at.”

Jeffree Star

"Hi, my name's Jeffree Star and one time God told me
it was unhealthy to be so popular, that's probably why I'm sick all the
time."

Marilyn Manson

“You should have to pass an IQ test before you breed. You have to
take a driving test to operate vehicles and an SAT test to get into college. So
why don't you have to take some sort of test before you give birth to children?
When I am President, that's the first rule I will institute.”

Jeffree Star

"The vanity sanctuary will keep me safe and you can
try to break me down but you’re only hurting yourself, just like you’re supposed to be doing. "

Marilyn Manson

“In the end we're all Jerry Springer Show guests, really, we just
haven't been on the show.”

Jeffree Star

"People need to hate me because they hate
themselves. They want to believe the rumors about me because they don't have their own rumors. I'm here to stay, with my diamond rims and pink lipstick, so get used to it and worry about yourself before you try and be negative towards me."

Marilyn Manson
"I fear being like everyone I hate, I fear failure, I fear losing
control. I love balancing between chaos and control with everything I do. I
always have a fear of going one way or another, getting lost in something, or losing everything to get lost in. And I fear being a completely acceptable sheep in society.”

Jeffree Star

"Sure, everybody wants to play God, but for me it's a
full-time job."

Marilyn Manson

“[According to an official statement,] the complaints are from religious
preachers who simply want publicity. Marilyn Manson isn't against God, but against organized religion, ... are just like any other heavy metal show, with
kids dressed in black with painted faces. They're not dangerous.”

Jeffree Star

"Half super bitch and half mega cunt. He is a self admitted boyfriend thief and makeup addict, he is a photo junkie and designer clothes slut, he is brazenly sexual and openly subversive; he has become a role model for the new post 911 America. The world feels like a funeral and Jstar is the high heeled embalmer, filling the world with reality and plastic mixed with
disaster. "

Marilyn Manson

“Is adult entertainment killing our children? Or is killing our children entertaining our adults?”

*end slide show*

Here we have compared and contrasted two alternative music cult icons. We have seen the difference between then physically, artistically, musically and intellectually, we are now able to form valid opinions on the direction that the entertainment of today is going.

“This is the culture you're raising your kids in. Don't be surprised if it blows up in your face.”
-Marilyn Manson
