Slap The Bass

Interview for extern today. Im going to go check out the place and if its good then I will apply and hope to get hired. I really hope it works out, I want to stay in the area. Broski is driving me there and back for my interview, then we'll probably try to meet up with this angry wiccan girl that lives on campus. And after that is White Castle adventure. Woooooo.
I've never been to White Castle. I think it's a hamburger place. And Im down with that.

Last night Van and I went to the movies and saw I Love You, Man. It was a good one. Worth seeing, definitely. We're both really stoked for the new X-Men movie. Its gonna be sick. Can we just take a moment to say "yum"?
X-Men might be my favorite set of superheroes. Mostly because they didn't choose to be the way they are (generally), most of them were born that way (though Logan was kind of...enhanced.) and they didn't get their powers by accident, like Spiderman or the Hulk. they all just started out as kids that could do unusual things and they chose to ignore it, enhance it, and use if for good or for bad. And, for the most part, their powers only effect their appearance subtly (Mystique, Beast, and Nightcrawler not included, along with a few others). I also like in the movies how they aren't wearing such costume-y outfits (e.i yellow spandex). I did not like, however, that Mystique was running around naked. (Well, I did..but...)
*ahem*
Moving on.
I made a lot of cookies last night.
and I no longer have a desire to write anything right now. I got distracted.
Time to go find something to eat.

Sometimes I Doubt Your Commitment To Sparkle Motion!

SCREEEEEEEE!!

Though I tend to talk about zombies a lot, I really have another point to bring up.

Van and I were in the car the other day, after an awesome weekend, and we got on yet another zombie related topic. This one goes as follows:

What would be worse: a raptor outbreak, or a zombie Apocalypse?

Think about it. Lets say that there are equal amounts, either way. Lets say that...there is 1 zombie or raptor for every 2 people. which is worse?
I personally think that zombies are worse to deal with.

In the event of a mass invasion of creatures, I would rather is be raptors than zombies. In all honesty, I feel that I would be more likely to escape from a raptor.

Raptors, though intelligent, do not have the ability to spread a disease to change people into one of them. If you get bit by a raptor, you will not get turned into one if you get away. You will still be human. Wounded, but human none the less. Zombies, on the other hand, will turn you into one of them. If you get bit by a zombie and get away, you will still turn into a zombie, therefor endangering those around you, and perhaps changing the ratio.
Secondly, raptors have a sense of reason.
If you are trapped somewhere, lets say a hole for example, a raptor will try to get at you, then they will give up because they get bored. Zombies will not. A zombie will try to get you until it does or until it is destroyed. A zombie will reach and claw at you.

Next thing to take into consideration is the fact that raptors can feel pain while zombies cannot. if you shot a gun and blow off a raptor's arm, it will stop attacking you because it is in pain. On the contrary, a zombie will keep coming after you with one arm and half a head. Also, if you light a raptor on fire, it will die, a zombie will just chase you while it is on fire.
Lastly, raptors will die out on their own. They will eventually all be killed or just die. It takes a long time to reproduce and their eggs are easy to destroy. All a zombie has to do is infect a person or animal and you instantly have more zombies. This will cause problems.

So, in the end, it is decided that Z Day is far more detrimental than a zombie attack. They are more resistance, harder to injure, and faster to populate, therefor making them the most dangerous.
Several people thought that raptors would be worse. I think I would stand a better chance against raptors.

That is all.
Goodnight.

So Put On Those Clothes You Never Grew Into And Smile Like You Mean It For Once

Remember Eric Carl?

I read his books so much as a kid. he was awesome.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar (that book is actually about me...) and then The Grouchy Ladybug (also about me) Good stuff.

When the bus shelter windows and napkin-dispensers surprise with distorted reflections, it's never the someone you're hoping to recognize. When the rent is too high living here between reasons to live and you can't sleep alone and your memories groan and the borders of night start to give. When you can't save cash or conviction; you're broke and you're breaking - a tired shoelace or a wave. So long past, past-due. A new name for everything. When the one-ways collude with the map that you've folded wrong and the route you've abandoned is always the path you probably should be upon. When the bottle-cap ashtrays and intimate's ears are all full with results of your breaks and the threads of your fear are unfurled with the tiniest pull. One more time, try. Stand with your hands in your pockets and stare at the smudge of a newspaper sky and ask it to rain a new name for everything. Fire every phrase. They don't want to work for us anymore. Dot or Dash our days. Make your face the flag of a semaphore. All you won't show. The boxes you brought here and never unpacked are still patiently waiting to go. So put on those clothes you never grew into and smile like you mean it for once. If you come back, bring a new name for everything.

I Scratched The Empties, Desperate To Hear You Make The Sound That You Found For Me

Sounds Familiar

We emerge from youth all wide-eyed like the rest, shedding skin faster than our skin can grow, and armed with hammers, feathers, blunt knives: words, to meet and to define and to... but you must know the same games that we played in dirt, in dusty school yards has found a higher pitch and broader scale than we feared possible, and someone must be picked last, and one must bruise and one must fail. And that still twitching bird was so deceived by a window, so we eulogized fondly, we dug deep and threw its elegant plumage and frantic black eyes in a hole, and rushed out to kill something new, so we could bury that too. The first chapters of lives almost made us give up altogether. Pushed towards tired forms of self immolation that seemed so original. I must, we must never stop watching the sky with our hands in our pockets, stop peering in windows when we know doors are shut. Stop yelling small stories and bad jokes and sorrows, and my voice will scratch to yell many more, but before I spill the things I mean to hide away, or gouge my eyes with platitudes of sentiment, I'll drown the urge for permanence and certainty; crouch down and scrawl my name with yours in wet cement.

Oh how I miss that band.

The Weakerthans. They always had something great, some strange song that made you think for a long time and gave some of the most perfect imagery. More poetry than music, yes?
They have an old song called Plea From A Cat Named Virtue
and it turns out that now they have one called Virtue The Cat Explains Her Departure
I just listened to it and oh my god it is so sad.
The first one, Plea... is (loosely) about a cat whose owner is just sinking into depression and self harm. Virtue, the cat, is trying to get him out of bed, trying to get him to play, things like that. In this next one, it seems like its the cat finally giving up because the owner doesn't take care of her anymore. Its a lot of symbolism and it sure is a killer.
But aside. That is all I have to say on that subject.

I need to paint my toenails.

And on a lighter note

Sounds familiar?
(in a very different way than the above stated "Sounds Familiar")
I love nerding out.

Ten points for me spelling everything right on the first try!

I'M GOING TO THE TAVERN!

Next time someone comes into my room in the middle of the night with an ice-pick, it would be greatly appreciated if someone would please tell them to leave and not stab me. Thank you.
That is the only explanation I have as to why I have the more horrific headache I have ever had in my entire life. Someone must have stabbed me through the head like a deck of used casino cards. Thankfully my roomie has some super meds that knocked it out pretty quick.

Yesterday wasn't all that bad. Class was just class, as it always is. We got to practice for our practical. I burned my hand pretty badly, but its okay. I had forgo ten to put the butter in my pastry cream and it was already poured out into the plastic wrap on a sheet tray, so I had to pick it up and squeeze it out of the plastic. While it was still boiling. So that was definitely no bueno.

And then I had a ridiculous craving for a large vat of Count Chocula with strawberry Nesquik, a really rare steak, really well done barbecue chicken, a cookie, and grilled zucchini. All at the same time. It was pretty bad.

If you haven't noticed, I'm going kind of backwards since my last update.

Then to the weekend.
Sunday was RP night. Totally awesome. It just bums me out and makes me wish that everything could be as easy as rolling dice.

You just tripped and fell down the steps. Roll six dice to see if you break your leg or not

or

You forgot your eclairs in the oven, roll 3 dice to see if you remember they are there before they burn

That would make life so much better. Sometimes.

But yes. RP night was great. I came home and my roomies asked what I did. Didn't bother trying to explain so I just said RPed.
Monica says "In bed?"
"No. I don't think he could handle me being a level 9 magic user."
Then left.

And yes, there was funyuns and mt dew.

The day before Van took me to the city to have dinner at Jekyll and Hyde's. Aaaand that was pretty awesome. Perfect place to take the kid that lives for Halloween and love horror movies. We went with Stokes and Lynn, too, which was fun, because the last time we hung out with them was valentines.

And then Friday we hung out at our friends' houses.

Generally a very good weekend. And its Tuesday, which means that Monday is over, which means that tomorrow is Wednesday, which means that I don't have that same chef anymore! Hooray!
Now, I think I'm going to go eat for the first time in a few days. Yippee!
